One of the most fascinating manuscripts on magic I have examined is BnF Ital.1524 and it has been fully transcribed and published in the collective volume Vedrai Mirabilia (You shall see wonders), by Compilazioni di vari trattati latini d'astrologia, necromanzia, magia, medicina, ecc. in greyscale. It's internally dated to 1446.
The contents are extremely varied, ranging from astrological material and astral image magic to negromantic experiments and the Clavicula Salomonis.
My main interest in it were the series of planetary characters that it reproduces and the Candaries. The titles of the work to which they are ascribed, in square brackets, were deduced by comparison with other copies.
I have not included here:
-ornaments and latrines throughout the manuscript
- the astrological tables such as those on fol.11v, 61v, 62v
-various seals of experiments, some attributed to demons, some unattributed, too many and small to list completely here, that will be probably be published in a separate post
- more complex figures, useless without their experiments, such as on 16v, 53v, 57r, 98r, etc.
